Big Road Blues Band

Blues, Blues and more Blues with a little bit a’ Soul is what you’ll hear at a Big Road performance.  Voted Best Blues Band in the Western North Carolina “Best Of” readers poll in 2007.  The stellar players include Mr. Longlegs himself, Duane Simpson on guitars, Sir Lancelot stirrin’ up the pot on bass, Joshua “Harp Thrub” Singleton on vocals and harmonica and “All Day” Joey K on drums.  Dubbed Asheville’s “Ruby throated Blues Mama, Peggy Ratusz has been pulling from an impressive stable of local musicians since she landed in Western NC from Austin, Texas in 2002.

2007-08 has been a banner period for the Big Road who won the Piedmont Blues Preservation Society’s Blues Challenge and were semi-finalist at he annual, prestigious International Blues Challenge in Memphis, Tn., January 2008.
